Asus SK8N Mobo.

The mobo will not remeber the date/time. The battery has been replaced twice.

When you power up you get the message time/date incorrect. You set the time/date press F10 and save settings. The PC reboots and you return to the error screen informing you that the date/time is incorrect.

In addition, when I change the operating mode from IDE to Raid after a hot reboot it has defaulted back to IDE

To me it sounds like the mobo has failed as the info isn't being retained even after a hot reboot. Any ideas?

There is a jumper near the battery and it resets the motherboard. It can go in two places. Reset and something on the lines of normal.

Check it is not in the reset position.

Maybe the flash chip is broken. How old is the mobo?
