Asus P4R800-VM M/board & Internet Problem

  Giggle n' Bits 20:34 21 Jan 2005

This one has really stumped me. Ok, WinXP, Intel P4 Prescott 478PGA 3GHz 800MHz 1MB etc, 128MB FX5200 AGP x8 Nvidia, 2x 256MB Crucial PC2700 DDR, DVD & CD Wtr not combi drives. PCI 56K/V92 Internal Modem with Intel Chipset Modem (SpeedCom+ Branded)

Problem: I can connect to my Wanadoo Anytime using 147008089916001 or 147008089916080 connection numbers fine but can only stay online for a matter of say 1 - 2 mins then the page goes and disconnects from internet.

I have tried another PCI Modem and 2 other computers on the same line and both sockets in the house with no problem but this machine as above just won't stay connected.

All I can think is a compatibilty issue with the ATI Chipset on this motheboard.

I have the Modem in PCI Slot 1 if that makes any difference.

I could not find anything in the Bios relating to AC97 Modem so I ruled that out.

Can anyone help please ?
