The different coloured slots are for dual DDR memory. Fit one module in each of the black or blue slots and the effective memory bandwidth is doubled.

Been a bit of a novice and need to confirm. So Say I want to fit 2x 256MB PC2700 DDR Dimms, I fit these in the Black Slots ? Can your goodself or someone please confirm I understand this correct.

Or do you actually mean i can stick one in the Black & one in the Blue ?

Yes.this is what you do.

Looking from the the cpu at the first bank of slots, one is blue and the next is black. Insert the memory in to those two slots.
