Hello All

Just bought the following today

Asrock K7S8X and AMD2800XP

All starts off fine and I can get into the BIOS menu, which recognises the CPU at the correct spped all fine and lovely, it then goes to start windows and "No signal detected" comes up on my screen, then it all starts again, POST is ok message about windows not starting properly etc etc. It won't go into safe mode or anything.

I have disconeected everything except the GeForce 2 MX400 64Mb AGP card and it still won't play ball.

The CPU is fine, it's running in my old MOBO OK, and it all boots fine.!

I have a 500W PSU and 767Mb of PC2100 RAM.

Any idea what else could be the problem

Any help greatfully received

Check the mbo's website, i think there is a compatability problem with some processors.

Have you reformatted the drive and reloaded windows

This can happen with XP if it was installed in one PC and the hard disk is moved to another.
So far the only way I've found to get round this is to reinstall XP
