Hi all newbie here, i really need help with this laptop. it was purchased from laptops direct for an xmas present for my daughter..I got her to try it just in case, oh god was i right. it worked for one night my daughter closed it down shut the lid, next day it wouldnt boot up, called the helpline and we got it on as it was booting up it would get so far then just stop, the guy said he thinks its missing a driver. There was now restore disc with this. Laptop direct have failed to collect the item and now I wont have it back for xmas,i,m desperate what can i do to get this running. Any help is gratefully appreciated.
I have an Aspire desk top it has a E-Recovery which is on a partition on the hard drive it also has a MOBO disk and DISPLAY driver disk. A computer should never be excepted with no means of recovery,as has been said if you run it off the battery then that could be flat the worst of cheaper laptops is battery life.
No to your question as that boot disk would be matched to the other computer. You will have to get into safe mode and use the command prompt and type scan /regrestore. You must put a space between scan as shown. I don't think E-Recovery works in safemode although you could give it a try before you you try a scanreg restore.
