artic freezer 4 478 socket

just replaced existing intel cpu heatsink with the above.
the fan does not seem working what am i doing wrong. connected the lead to the main cpu fan socket.

Sounds like it may be faulty, unless its speed is variable right down to zero and it is not asking for any fan assistance at present. You could try running the machine for a few minutes just to let the heat sink warm up and see if the fan then starts, but be careful not to let things get too warm before you switch off again.

i could run the fan for a while - i have a temp monitor so how long shall i run it and what temp untill i turn the comp off

managed to get the fan spinning - pushed the blades in and now its working fine, but sometimes pc does not boot up properly gives me f2 or f11 im confused what should i do.
