Arrows on Desktop Shortcuts

Got a new computer and am using Windows XP Home.

I have created some shortcuts on the desktop, each of these has a white box with a black arrow appended to the icon.

Would be grateful to know if there is a way of keeping the particular icon, but not have the arrow showing?

TweakUI is probably the easiest - download from Microsoft.

My Desktop icons have the same, nothing to worry about, they are only shortcuts.

After installing Tweak UI, click on the 'Explorer' tab where you'll find an option to remove the arrow in shortcuts. G

Another good thing that is easy to do with TweakUI is get rid of those anoying balloon tips :-)
