How do I arrange files so that they are random and stay that way

  Forum Editor 10:19 15 Sep 2003

you could explain in a little more detail - what do you mean by 'random'?

I have an external hard drive, I want to put about 10,000 mp3 files on it.I do not want the files in alphabetical or numerical order.I want to shuffle all the files ONCE and keep them in that same shuffled order everytime I turn the drive on.

Try View then Arrange by Size

Arranging by size was my first thought but then I realised that all the "short" songs will play first. Thanks for the idea anyway.
