Are My Moniters Faulty?

i have a windows 98 and a windows xp.

my XP runs FINE, No problems at all.

my 98 WAS running fine until a few months ago the moniter wasnt displaying a clear picture, and it soon got to the point were there was no picture, just a screen of black squares with 4 white ones in the middle.

i thought it was the moniter because when i jiggle the lead the picture changed.

i managed to get another moniter, it worked but a week later the EXACT same thing happened.

my mums boyfriend thinks its the graphics card, which his trying to sort out now (i think)

does anyone know what could be causing this, or does this sound like a graphics card problem?

Thanks In Advanced.

Almost certainly the graphics card. You should be able to pick up a second hand one for a few quid and try it.
