Are DVD download sites any good?

Whenever I search for "DVD download" I get lots of US sites offering massive DVD libraries and unlimited downloads for a modest subscription. Does anyone have any experience of these? Do you get access to the latest releases? Do you have to stay online to watch, or can you download and copy to your own DVDs? Good/bad experiences and site recommendations would be very welcome.

A lot of these so-called sites take $29 off you (*ahem* joining fee *ahem*) and then send you the address for downloading Kazaa, bittorrent, emule or similar. They all look too good to be true and therefore..............

It is interesting to note that the RIAA etc. have put it on record that they are going to stiff people royally for downloading huge amounts of films illegally;-))
