MSCONFIG shows it starting at boot. Any ideas what it is?

I think it is part of HP Media Suite - maybe linked to a Printer or something you have on your PC.

STOP it from starting at boot - you then may be able to find out just what it is.

Sea Urchin - Yes, I also looked at those - possible I suppose - this isn't something we come across every day.

Yes, think your right, something to do with HP Media Suite.
I am trying to sort a pals HP Netbook 110 that he purchased yesterday from PC World that is as slow as a dog. On boot it fires uo HP Media Suite and you have to click another button to get to Win7 Starter screen. Have disabled ArcSoft in MSConfig but HP Media Suite still shows at startup.
Anyone know of a way to stop Media Suite so that it doesn't use resources and boots into Win7 directly?
Could remove it by Add/remove Progs I suppose?

Use WinPatrol to see more info and hidden stuff.
You can also leave it running. It's a good addon for whatever AV you have.

Use Revo Uninstaller for permanent disable of bloatware/trials.

Ccleaner when later when setup.

Then make a system image.

Thanks Robinofloxley. Usefull info. Decided that as it is only a day old to do a factory restore. That way at least I'll know if it was a dog from the start. Will report.

You could set HP Media Suite to Manual Startup in Administrative Tools > Services or if you do uninstall it you can reinstall by d/l from click here if wanted back
