AOL Upgrade Threatened

In three days time we will be performing an upgrade on your line that should make it more stable and reduce faults.

What happens now that your line has been upgraded?
When the upgrade is complete, you will experience a 10-day stabilisation period. A careful examination of your telephone line will automatically take place to establish the most stable connection you can receive on your telephone line.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, you can chat to us online at AOL Keyword: LiveHelp, or call 0844 499 5555*.

Best wishes,

"You will experience a 10-day stabilisation period." Does this mean the damn thing won`t work for nearly a fortnight?

NO, but what it does mean is that you may experience periodical loss of connection throughout this period, once it finds a speed that is stable it will maintain that and you should not experience loss of connection.

Gudlucker,

I hope you`re right, but past experience of AOL upgrades has been a mixed experience at best.

At least on this occasion they are giving us some sort of warning that things are about to change, rather than making changes and leaving subscribers to catch up as best they can.
