AOL Spyware protection-Auto scans on startup-Why?

Hi again all

For the last couple of days, when I start up my laptop, the AOL Spyware protection jumps into the screen and begins scanning files. I can only get it off by using the Windows Task Manager. Why is this happening and is there a way to disable this or will it cause problems if I do? Idiot proof answers will be much appreciated all.

Cheers

Kooji.

It should give you the option to turn off scheduled scanning within the program, probably under "tools"

Many thanks for your speedy response, I clicked on the AOL programme in Start Menu and is then said: re-start computer to complete installation. Once I did that it seems to have resolved itself, so I'm going to leave well alone. Thanks once again.

Cheers
