Over the last few days when I log onto aol I get the following message:

AOL- security warning - Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher.

name: click here publisher: unknown publisher

It has something to do with active x controls.

How can I find out what software is blocked?

Any advice please? Thanks.

Using XP Home and AOL broadband Silver

The problem seems to be when going onto aol.co.uk.

Tried AOL's live help but ended up in a queue of 38!

I've just tried and succeded in getting onto AOL.co.uk with both Firefox and IE browsers.

Do you have your browser security settings set too high?

Try clearing your internet cache with CCleaner click here and try again (deselect cookies if you don't want it to wipe any stored passwords).

Contacted AOL live help. They advised me to download the xpsp2 patch and this would solve the problem. I already had it installed!

The message doesn't appear when I go to the aol.co.uk from MS internet explorer. It just happens when I use aol as the browser.

Thanks

Is the message telling you you have errors on the page and offering you the option to debug?

If so got to settings>internet options and chose to change the browser settings using IE Internet options.

Go to "Advanced" options tab and under Browsing put a tick in the box labelled "Disable Script Debugging..Other"

Apply and close the internet options.

Thanks, Gudgulf

The message is:
AOL- security warning - Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher.

name: aol.co.uk publisher: unknown publisher

It just has a link which explains active X controls.

After windows has blocked do you have (3w's) aol .co.uk%publisher/ in your url?

  albu 10:46 20 Sep 2006

Thanks Rdave 13

Yes, I do have 3w's aol.co.uk as the name
publisher: unknown

  rdave13 10:48 20 Sep 2006

Does it have the"%" and "20" added to it?

  rdave13 10:58 20 Sep 2006

It could be that animated media has been blocked. Click on the settings icon( top left) click on pop-ups in the list and click on the animated media tab. See if aol.co.uk is listed. If so then remove.

  albu 10:59 20 Sep 2006

No,it doesn't have % or 20 added to it.

Thanks Rdave 13

It happens everytime I go to 3w's aol.co.uk when aol is the browser, but not when using MS I. Explorer?

Strange!
