Am going to look at a pc this evening that i upgraded to xp a few months ago. It has aol on it but once aol is launched they are unable to shut down in normal way.

I ran sfc scannow last time i was there as pc had crashed a couple of times, should i just go straight for a windows repair??

It has avg anti - virus on the machine.

Could you be more precise.......I have AOL and if you go to shutdown the computer without closing AOL first it can take quite a while for Windows to do the job for you.And that's with a P4 3.2GHz cpu.

Are you saying the pc wont shut down at all......even if you exit AOL before clicking on Shutdown?

just seems to be the pc freezing. Taken it to last known configuration hope that will do the trick!
