aol/ belkin network adaptor

im not very good with pcs so was hoping someone could help me please.
in our flat we have got aol broadband. my two flatmates can connect to it no problems, they both have inbuilt wireless, but my laptop with a belkin network card cant.i have tried to put in the password but get error message about not being hexadecimal? the password works on the other 2 laptops though.
tried changing the password to hexadecimal and i dont get the error message but it just wont connect to the network
it is not my network card as it works on aol at my home address.
phoned aol and they were useless. can anyone help?

What type of encryption is the router using?

64-bit WEP uses a key of 10 hexadecimal characters

128-bit WEP uses a key of 26 hexadecimal characters

it says wpa-psk but i dont really understand what that is?
