These are the best Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, they will cool the cpu 18 degrees C below the reference amd hsf (£16.39 Including VAT at 17.5%), from click here (bottom of page).

You will prob. have to remove the mobo to fit this.

Thanks but do these fit a socket A CPU? I am right in thinking that an athlon Barton is socket A?

I'm sure you're right it's a Socket A processor. Tell us what motherboard it's in just to be sure.

If it is, Vinny's recommendation won't fit.

My recent experience looking for socket A coolers suggests they are harder to find now.

Are you looking for efficient but noisy cooling, or something bigger, slower and quieter??

I have a Copper Silent 2TC rev2. on my AMD Skt A processor. Works a dream, near silent, the newer rev3 version is adjustable. Getting temps of 30-40 for general usage.

I got one of these in the end from Ebuyer. It's rated up to a 3200+ cpu. Speed (and hence noise)is adjustable either automatically by a thermal sensor you attach to the heatsink, or manually by a little knob on a pci plate at the back of the pc.

Sorry, totally mis-read the model of cpu.
