After some strange behaviour I was checking around and found these........

C:\Documents andSettings \%myname%\~

C:\Documents andSettings \%myname%\plugin131_01.trace

C:\Documents andSettings \%myname%\ntuser

C:\Documents andSettings \%myname%\NTUSER.DAT

I'm running a standalone xpSP2 pc.

Anyone know what these are and if I should be seeing these here

Cheers

I have the NTUSER files, and supposed to be there.

I don't know about the ~ (is it a folder?) nor the plugin thing.

Thanks VoG n Matty,

According to the link that Vog posted the ~ relates to an issue with OE address book. However the issue seems to be with an older version than Ihave?? I have the most up to date sp2 version with all security updates - it could be that this appeared when I started using TBird - perhaps some strange issue when my address book was copied over to Tbird!

Still dunno what this trace thing is - I've scanned with various tools NAV - Spybot - Adaware and ZAPro with no nasties being found.

Cheers

Have you tried opening the plugin131_01.trace file in Notepad?

Here's what it has to say....

Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.3.1_01
Using JRE version 1.3.1_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Documents and Settings\me
Proxy Configuration: Browser Proxy Configuration

----------------------------------------------------
c: clear console window
f: finalize objects on finalization queue
g: garbage collect
h: display this help message
l: dump classloader list
m: print memory usage
q: hide console
s: dump system properties
t: dump thread list
x: clear classloader cache
0-5: set trace level to <n>
----------------------------------------------------

Does this help

Hi all,

seems like a java runtime error - cleared through the java console :-)

Cheers
