I'm in the final stage of buying my new monitor and I have 3 questions. QUESTION N° 1 : Is there really any great difference bewteen a 19" and 22" monitor cause the 22" one is about 40% more expensive? QUESTION N° 2 : Is there really any great difference between a DVI and a VGA connection? QUESTION N° 3: My desktop has a DVI connection but my (old) laptop does not. Is there an adaptor which exists to use on a DVI cable to adapt to the VGA input on my laptop.

1. Purely personal choice, bigger probably looks better.

2. DVI should provide sharper picture.

3. Yes, click here

If you buy a 19” wide screen the Maximum Resolution: 1440 x 900 is required

If you buy a 22” wide screen the Maximum Resolution: 1680 x 1050 is required

You might have to change your display card to support these resolutions

Check what the max resolution that your card can handle

If it cannot handle these resolutions buy a normal 19-22” screen & not a wide screen if you do not want to replace your display card.

As display will be small or stretch on the screen

At present uses a 19” wide with the correct resolution

Have seen wide screen without the correct resolution looks terrible and will drive you crazy

a 22" screen has about 33% larger screen area than a 19" screen
