Try on boot to get into safe mode by tapping F8 after the power button then scan with her antivus programs.

Has she got an "up-to-date" Anti-virus Program installed and when did she last run it?

If she has not, then I suggest that she gets a friend to download the McAfee Stinger for her, load it onto a Flash Drive (that's one of those thingies, about the size of a pack of Chewing Gum, that plug into your USB socket) and then run the Stinger via her USB Socket.

There are several free Anti-virus Programs that she should be able to use, AVG and Avast, come immediately to mind. Again a friend could download one to a Flash Drive, add all the Updates and then load it onto her Laptop and run a Scan.

she has gone onto safe mode and scanned using her avg free and it is still doing the same after the scan ,??? so she may well have to try the mcafee stinger ...sorry to be a nuisance but we would probably do more harm then good if we tried to rectify it ourselves and thx

I was at least a mile behind you.

Had this on a PC yesterday and the bleeping computer solution cleared it straight away. You do need to print out the instructions and follow them exactly, though. Don't click on the 'recommended download' button at the top - scroll down for the instructions.
