I currently use Norton Anti Virus and have done so for years: I am considering using Kaspersky Anti Virus and would be interested to know what readers thoughts are on this product but most importantly to know whether I can use both programs on the same machine or will this cause conflicts.

Never heard of that program, but it isn't recommended to use more than one Anti-Virus program on one machine

Running two anti virus programs is a high risk strategy, some will cohabit peacably, most will not and the resultant mess as they fight each other to a stand still is potentially horrendous. So far I don't know of a list of compatible combinations.
As to Kasparsky, I had an old version off a cover disk and it was a complete pig, though there are fans of the newer versions who have had no problems and like it.
If you are a non profit home then why not use avast! it's very good and free, you just have to register each year for updates click here .
If you need a commercial licence NOD32 is highly recommended click here .

Used norton for a while and ditched it, 3 months into my year long subscription......

AVG free gets my vote.
