Annoying boot-up error

  buzz_ig 11:24 03 Jan 2005

Every time I turn my computer on, I get an error message saying PowerPoint has crashed and must be restarted. Powerpoint was never running! It is not in the start-up folder and I was not running it before I closed down previously.

I can just ignore the message and everything boots up as normal, but it is annoying. Anyone any ideas what it might be?

Is it listed in MSCONFIG?
If so untick the box entry.
RUN > MSCONFIG > startup

Looked at MSConfig, and there is no mention of PowerPoint, or anything that looks like it could be PowerPoint.

As a side issue, there is a lot of stuff in there, and my computer does take an age to boot-up, is there any danger in trimming the list down?

try removing one at a time you can restore if you have problems by just putting the tick back. do not remove av or any services
