Aministrative priviledges?

  astral traveller 10:24 13 Dec 2007

I have Vista premium, with some programmes I have installed (most recently paragon hard drive manager) when I try to run them I get the message "you need administrative priviledges to access the system - contact your system administrator". I am logged on as the only administrator on the pc so I don't know why this happens or what I can do to get around it. Has anyone else encountered this and what can you do to run the programme?

Try locating the Paragon program`s .exe file in C:\Program Files\Paragon. Right click the exe file and select Properties. Under the Compatibility Tab tick the option to run as administrator. If the programme isn`t Vista compatible also tick the box that offers the alternative to run in XP SP2 mode

You may need a reboot before you try again. If this doesn`t work we may have to turn off UAC completely.

Right click on the Icon you are using, and select
"Run as Administrator" from the context menu.

I tried right clicking the icon on the start menu but got nothing at all from that. Taffs suggestion seems to have done the trick though ... thanks both.
