AMD K6-2 - Onboard graphics / sound

  laser sailor 12:32 27 Sep 2004

I ran a Belarc Advisor audit on my PC but it does not say if I have a graphics or soundcard. Does this mean that they on on the motherboard ?

Under "Multimedia" the report says I have a C-Media PCI Audio Legacy Device and CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device which I assume are not sound cards.

Any suggestions on a graphics card I can use ? The AMD is 500Mz with w/3DNow!
The tech details on the AMD site won't download.

The C-Media PCI Audio Legacy Device is the sound card.

The AMD is 500Mz with w/3DNow! is your processor.

Look for graphics or video.....(maybe Matrox or ATI)

If you are giong to upgrade then you need a PCI card with 32 or 64 mb ram. Look to the lower end cards costing under £35

As AndySD says, your audio is on-board. Have a look at the back of your computer. If the graphics connector is in one of the PCI/AGP slots, you have a separate graphics card, but it's best to open the case and look just in case the socket is on a bracket connecting to a motherboard header. While you are there, make sure that you have an AGP slot. For your motherboard it isn't worth spending too much on the latest graphics card. If your motherboard supports AGP 2x, then the Dabs Value (Inno3D) GF2MX 400 with 64M ram is a superb card for £20 click here.

Does it tell you what make and model number your motherboard is.
