amd 64 3500+

if i go to system >> general, it states amd 3500+ 991 mgz, i thought it was quicker than this?
please excuse my ignorance.

Yes, it has changed.

Windows will control the speed of the cpu, to conserve power and heat.

When the computer is doing very little, it will run at a slower speed.

When you start to use some intense programs, then windows will put down the accelerator and the cpu will speed up to full speed.;-)

What you are seeing is AMD's Power Now technology doing what it is supposed to do.
