When I try shopping on line with amazon or any other shopping channel I can place items in the shopping basket, then I can go to the view basket option but as soon as I click to proceed to checkout Internet Explorer 7 crashes can anyone help solve this problem please.

"norton 360 and norton webroute antivirus with anti spyware":

That's your problem 2 Anti-Virus Programs.

If you have "Webroot AntiVirus with AntiSpyware & Firewall 6.0"

Norton 360 version 2.0 (Unless it's Beta 3 like mine).

Those two programs Wont & Can't run together, You will have two of everything.

I have uninstalled all anti-virus programs temporaly.
re-installed IE.7 and still IE.7 crashes when I click on procced to purchase.

Has anyone seen this problem before.

What's worse, running two AV's, or none at all? :p

Re-install one of them. Do a full update and scan. Then read these;

Just to emphasise...don't do internet shopping at all without an AV program installed...

Hi, thanks for all the responses

I uninstalled my antivirus programs temporally while I checked if this was causing the problem.
But the problem remained.

I have reinstalled Norton 360, and done a full virus scan and found no problems, I have also run spybot search and destroy which also found no problems.

I have reset IE.7 and yet the problem is still there, whenever I click on proceed to checkout IE.7 crashes

I am starting to think I may have to do a full system install.

I have IE8. The very latest version, but recently it has started crashing when I try to log in to Amazon. I noticed that you had something similar last year , and wondered if you had solved it in the end? I have tried reinstalling IE8, but to no avail. Now if I want to buy from amazon I have to use firefox - which works fine, but it's annoying not to be able to use IE, which I prefer! Would be interested in anything you could contribute...
