Alternative Email Client

  I,Me and Myself 09:01 17 Apr 2007

We are looking for an alternative to Outlook Express - something which is good on viruses etc. but that is also fun to use.

We also want something which does not hog the processor too.

Can anyone recommend anything (must also be free)?

Hi, Incredimail click here IMHO cannot be beaten .... I have the Gold Version.

Like Technotiger I also use Incredimail, I use the free version,Great program with only one fault,Every e-mail you send carries an advert underneath for incredimail,Some folk dont like it because of that,But like you say, you are looking for something that is fun to use,This is the one for you,To get rid of the advert you need the paid version.

We did have Incredimail a while back but we read that it really hogged the processor and slowed everything down so we uninstalled it. Is this not the case then?

I have used it for years, never had any problems with slow-down or anything else. I guess if you only have a small amount of RAM it is not impossible. I have 2Gb now, but even on less than half that previously I had no problems.

As a matter of interest I have just looked at my pcu usage for IM, while also keeping this site open and also Skype plus other things all at the same time. IM pcu usage is fluctuating at between 0% and 5% ...

Does anyone know how much Incredimail is in GBP for the full version?

Is it worth it?

  birdface 10:47 17 Apr 2007

click here £29.95 for premium version.

Even though I love Firefox, I tried Thunderbird and did not like it.

I'm going back to Incredimail - the free one (£29.95 is a bit much!!).

Thanks all for your helo.
