All email attachments are corrupt on open (Vista)

  Workingmum 21:19 10 Dec 2008

Every time I attempt to open an email attachment on Outlook Express, it advises they are corrupt.
This is a Vista machine.
Any ideas!

How did you get Outlook Express on a vista machine?

  peter99co 21:38 10 Dec 2008

Vista uses Windows Mail.

Are the emails from one source or are they from different senders ? Are you able to see what the file types are before you attempt to open them ? If so, let us know.

Will check PC later, as it is at work,
Do you think if i open tools/options/security tab and remove the check from the DO Not Allow Attachements to be Saved or Opened ,will do the trick....
If I do this should I sent up some other security.
Thank you for your earlier responses

A Way to improve Email security is to Install a software prog called Mailwasher. This allows you to see the mail at the server before you download it. It has a good following and is Free to download.

Yes windows mail. did my procedure
Actually this doesn't resolve either.
all attachments are corrupt............
should i ask senders to email in different format if they are xp machines

  iscanut 15:05 11 Dec 2008

What format are they being sent in ? Text or HTML or another ? The Op system difference should not matter. Is it ALL emails from different senders or just one sender ?

It now comes up with
'The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.
Create an association in the set associations control panel'
Can't find this any ideas!!

As no response, will assume that problem sorted.
