ALBW/Quicktime not working after IE 7 install

I have been using the 'ALBW Extractor' mp3 file extractor program for years with no problems. Recently I installed EA's Rail Simulator, and Internet Explorer 7, (both on the same day). Now when I try to Preview an mp3 from inside ALBW Extractor (which uses Qucktime as it's player) I get an 'unhandled exception ' error. The mp3s play about 2 seconds then the prog crashes. I tried reverting to IE 6 and also updated Quicktime, but with no success. I have also re-installed IE 7. I don't really fancy uninstalling Rail Simulator, but I don't know which of these installs caused the problem.
Can anyone help please?
Dave
