Have a look in Event Viewer.

possibly temperature

some mother boards sound an alarm at a predefined temp of the CPU or case.

Yup - things that set off an alarm are temperature, fan speed too low, or out-of-range voltage from the power supply.

Hasn't happened again,so far,any idea of things to check and fix?.

Have a look in the BIOS at what teperatures the alarms are set to go off - and what the temperatures actually are.

Have a look at the monitored fans - see if any look a bit *lazy*. Try and tie this in with any wayward temperatures.

Have a look in the BIOS at the DC voltages - look for any that are very close to their upper/lower lmits.
