Can anyone help, had my PC on and was away from keyboard, when all of a sudden an a alarm sound went off for no apparent reason, what could have caused this??,i switched off and on again and now its ok ??,is this a warning of some kind.
Have a look in Event Viewer.
possibly temperaturesome mother boards sound an alarm at a predefined temp of the CPU or case.
Yup - things that set off an alarm are temperature, fan speed too low, or out-of-range voltage from the power supply.
Hasn't happened again,so far,any idea of things to check and fix?.
Have a look in the BIOS at what teperatures the alarms are set to go off - and what the temperatures actually are.Have a look at the monitored fans - see if any look a bit *lazy*. Try and tie this in with any wayward temperatures.Have a look in the BIOS at the DC voltages - look for any that are very close to their upper/lower lmits.
