I have yet another question for all those of you who Mac'.

I am in the process of setting up my new mac and noticed I have an internet connection without actually doing anything at all!

Its a macbook and I think its something to do with Airport? can anyone give me an outline of how this works? I am extremely happy with it, but just dont want to end up with a huge internet bill from ......somewhere! is this a free service?

Thanks all and merry christmas!

It's probably your neighbour's unsecured network being picked up by your Airport card.

btw, this is mostly a PC forum, very few Mac users here. That doesn't mean you can't ask, obviously, but you would get more expert help on a Mac forum.

Me again - yes, it is possible that you are picking-up a neighbours network, if that is the case it might be worth making enquiries locally, it would have to be someone very close by - the point being, it is illegal to use another's network without permission.

I hope my link was of some help.

BTW, everybody's welcome on this Forum, Mac or otherwise.
