AGP Aperture Size Help

To start things off here is my current system:

AMD Atlon 2600+ 333FSB :
512MB DDR333 PC2700 :
Asus A7V8X-X :
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb 8x :
WinXP Pro :

After reading through alot of sites about AGP Aperture size I came to the conclusion that setting it to half of my system memory would be suitable. But when I try to change it, the only available options to me are 8, 16 and 32mb.

Reading my motherboard manual I read this:

-----------------

Graphics Aperture Size.

This feature allows you to select the size of mapped memory for AGP graphics data. Configuration options: [4MB] [8MB] [16MB] [32MB] [64MB] [128MB] [256MB] [512MB] [1024MB].
The 1024 and 512 configuration options are available only when you use AGP 8x graphics card.

-----------------

So why cant I select the other options which I want to use?

Thanks is advance.

i dont know why you have limited options but so long as its set to over 16(some cards wont work if set lower) then it doesnt really matter.

you wont see any performance increase.

Thanks.

Does any else know how I could fix it, my pc isnt performing aswell as it shoulg be on a few games, if I could get this sorted it would narrow down why it isnt.
