There are several processes using that same file name. Most are legit. Acronis, Avira, Dell, InstallShield, Cyberlink among others.

Some are not legit.

Determine the location of the file to help determine it's legitimacy and what program is running it. Check the file's properties.

Using Process Explorer click here rather than Task Manager can easily help with this, as there is a path to process function which the Task Manager does not have.

You could also try a scan with:

Run it in normal mode first, then if it fails to detect anything, start in safe mode and run again (choose FULL SCAN each time)

The Process explorer says agent interface is Iron Mountain Inc and gives me the option to kill process! Should I? and if so should this sort out the problem?
I ran Super anti spyware and found 5 tracking cookies but not this one...
Also clicked on to file.net but this is a bit above my little head! not sure where to go!
Thanks again

Iron Mountain are a valid data protection company:

Have you any such software installed on your machine? Drive encryption etc...?

  crosstrainer 15:13 10 Sep 2008

Try a scan with ccleaner:

Full scan in both normal and safe mode as before.

Now the problem is getting worse. Is closing the system every 10 mins or so...
Sorry but how would I know if I have Drive encryption or this software installed? I went into programs but nothing seemed obvious! boo

What operating system are you using? A repair install may be the way to go.

Is this a safe option for a blonde novice!!!!

As long as you have a CD copy of XP, follow the instructions below. You will need to install all updates and service packs after the repair, so it's a bit long winded, but it will leave your files and folders intact.

Sounds drastic, but it should do the trick.
