After I've connected to the internet via ADSL, periodically the dial-up dialogue box momentarily appears at regular intervals and disappears again. This is getting very annoying, and interrupts programms I am using. It seems to be caused by something called 'Agent.exe' located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService folder. Does anyone know what is happening here, and how do I disable this.

Try disabling you old Dial-up Modem in Device Manager. Put a Tick in the Little box not to use
