after fitting new mobo

I fitted a new mobo, got it up and running did bios set up ok booted into windows xp start up panel switched computer off and on a couple of times everything seemed ok so opened up xp was asked if i wanted to validate and as the computer is my daughters i refused as my internet connection is different to my daughters can no longer boot even into bios or safe mode has anybody got ideas

Have you tried to use the same Windows disk to install Windows on two PCs - this is a no go.

Vog I think Windows as seen the Upgrade. That's why it need to Validate. The Info on the Hard drive is for the old board. It's a wonder it ran or started.

If you have a full XP CD then you can run Repair.

PS this is not the same as a Restore disc

my problem is that icant get it to boot into bios safe mode i get three lights on keyboard the comp starts but doesnt get to post

BIOS and safe mode are two different thing's

you may need a reinstall if you now have a new m/board as there may be different drivers.
