Will be doing my first build soon.
My motherboard is an asus A7V8X
click here want to put 1gb of PC2700 from m/b spec can only use 2 dimm slots using the PC2700.
Am i best to go for branded? if so what make.
Or is it down to experience with different brands.
Many thanks

Go to click here and follow the three simple steps and let the program scan your MB. It will then advise you what to get. If you decide to buy from them it will be with you by lunchtime the next day. Good Luck.

I have an A7V8X board in one of my pc's and run it with 1GB Crucial PC2700 (2X 512MB) Have also tried running with Twinmos & Infineon PC2700 RAM without any problem.

So long as it's reputable branded RAM you should not have a problem but for a few more pounds, Crucial guarantee theirs will work in your board and I think this is a small premium worth paying.Agree with Gandalph, I have bought a lot of RAM from Crucial and it always comes quickly and they always respond quickly to phone or e-mail.
