Advice: which motherboard?

  dagwoood 16:32 20 Feb 2005

I am going to replace my motherboard and have narrowed down my choice to two. They are an Abit board click here and an MSI board click here

Any advice as to which is the best please?

My cpu/RAM specs are Athlon XP 3200+(400MHz FSB), 2x512MB RAM(PC3200), running on XP SP2.

Something to bear in mind is that I'm currently using my old graphics card(Radeon 9600)as I'm waiting for my new card(Geforce 6600GT AGP)to be returned as it is faulty

Cheers, dagwoood.

For the MSI here is cheaper click here and regards the Abit one here is cheaper providing its the same one click here I would also be tempted to go for a motherboard that had serial ATA as well as IDE

Thanks for the links Totally-braindead.

I wandered which card will perform better given my systems specs, and which manufacturer has the better reputation.

Thanks again, dagwoood.

I've built a few PCs with MSI boards and have used their graphics cards quite a bit, good quality never had a problem, I'm afraid I can't comment on Abit I've never built a PC using an Abit board.
