URL=[click">[/IMG]">URL=[click here a new one of these things (think it's called a SATA). I have a Seagate external hard drive that got all brokey (at least, that bit did). Needs to have a USB 3.0 bit. Can anyone tell me where to buy one, please?

All advice is highly appreciated.

The most technological thing that I'm capable of is getting to level 4 on Horace goes Skiing.

Many thanks.

Hello Fruitbat.

It's 3.5

I've got the case for it....but the usb 3.0 connection was damaged in transit.

If broke in transit claim your money back.

It will take and cost more to repair than the approx £5-10 for a new case.

Sorry, it was me that broke it!

Was hoping that I could just buy that part from somewhere.

Its hard to tell from the pictures what exactly has broken, has the board just come detached from the case?

Or has the USB3 socket come detached from the board?

  lamsicle 12:40 23 Mar 2015

It's the USB3 socket that's become detached.

You may be able to solder it on again very carefully.
