Advice on how to copy files from one pc to another

  mikeyboy32 21:33 24 Feb 2005

I will be getting a new pc to replace my current old pc.I'd like to transfer a few files and software from y old pc to my new one. What is the best way to do this?
My current pc is quite old and does not have a USB port so would not be able to transfer to a memory stick for example. And the files are too big to put on a floppy.
help would be appreciated.

Software will have to be installed on the new machine - can't be copied over like data files.

The best suggestion is to take the disk out of the old machine, set as slave and install in the new machine. Windows Explorer will see it and you can drag and drop your data.
