I have checked all apropraite options from control panel, checked for device conflicts and restored xp home to previous date but still no sound. Any ideas?
You will need to find out which Sound Drivers it uses and install them.
It may sound silly but I'm covering all possibilities:-- plug a pair of headphones in the headphones socket and see if you get sound- is there a volume dial on the laptop itself?- check for a Fn key combination for volume on the laptop keyboard (look for a volume or speaker symbol on your keyboard) and try increasing the volume that wayIt could be the case that the sound card in the laptop is not working. Have you had it long? Maybe time to phone the retailer to sort it out if you have only recently purchased it.RegardsFitshase
