ADSL Filters

Just as a matter of interest, why is it not possible to simply connect one filter to the line at the box, rather than individual filters to each device?

Just put one on the master socket and take any spures from there i.e sky, phone broadband.

simpler still, why not replace your master box with an ADSL box, then you don't need filters at all!

Basically the filter splits telephone conversation and broadband into different frequencies so they can both use the line at the same time, hence if a filter fails they both try using same frequency and hence broadband cuts off when phone rings or is answered or no connection to broadband flashing light on router
