Adobe Reader Problem

Good evening all.

When I download a file from anywhere on the net and then attempt to read it, it starts off in English then seems to translate the text into some other language which looks a bit like Russian.

I've just uninstalled, cleaned the registry and reinstalled it, but its still doing the same thing.

There were no spyware or virus nasties in my scans.

I'm running XP (SP2) with Opera as my browser. I looked to see if things would be any different in IE6 to possibly rule out any browser issue, but its the same in there as well.

Any help, as always, is very much appreciated.

I had Probs with Acrobat, so I downloaded this. Only about 8mb on disc. Acrobat is in the 40mb's bracket

click here I think it's better than Acrobat

PS it also starts and works much faster

Hi guys, and thanks for answering.

My Adobe 7 is indeed the free version, and thanks for the link woodchip. I'll give that a go.

I'm really curious as to why Adobe has started to act up though.
