Adobe Reader 6

Adober Reader could not open "xxx" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted (for example it was sent as an E mail attachment and was not correcly decoded.)

this has appeared regularly since upgrading to "6"

Try uninstalling/reinstalling v6.

can you view this for example? click here

if so the pdf file you have been sent may be corrupted as it says.

are you sure its a pdf attachment you are trying to open?

First try Crossbow7`s suggestion. Do get a fresh download of 6 here for the re-installation:

If that does not resolve matters, you could try removing version 6, and re-installing version 5. (This assumes that you could read pdf documents previously).

Version 5 is available for download here:

This version is OK for Win-2000

I upgraded to V6 on my PC many months ago, and frankly I'm not impressed. It seems to be much slower than V5. Unless you have a very fast PC, I'd stick to V5.
