How could I create a group policy that will only affect a set user?

Add only that user to the group for whom you've created that particular policy

I'd love to help you further but don't know enough about the workings of Win 2000 off the top of my head. It's a complicated OS and not for use by the faint hearted! Have lent my Win 2000 book to a friend so can't look up the exact proceedure for you. I'm presuming that it is Win 2000 that you're using but suppose it could be XP Pro. Have you tried the obvious and had a look in the help files?

2000 - yes, help files yes. I will check MSDN.

Thanks for your help.
