Adequate protection?

Hi,

I have been having loads of problems of late with my Internet connection suddenly going very slow and intermittently hanging. I've since reviewed my security and think I may have had too many programs. Before I had:

AVG 9
ZoneAlarm Firewall
AdAware Anniversary Edition
Spybot
SUPERantispyware

I've since changed this to:
Avira AntiVir Personal
ZoneAlarm
Spybot
SUPERantispyware

Is that enough protection or am I missing something really obvious? I believe Avira has real-time protection that Spybot doesn't - I didn't install TeaTime as it slows down everything.

What do people think? Advice would be most welcome!

I would add Spywareblaster to the list

Have you checked that the air vents are clear of dust and fluff if so inside will also need cleaning.
Maybe give C Cleaner a run.
Are you using the latest version of Zone Alarm.
Have you run a defrag recently. If not i would run one.

Have you got enough disc space left and enough memory.

If using Internet Explorer maybe try IE7Pro add-on.
Make sure ad-blocker is ticked and mini Download manager is unticked.

It will help you browse a bit quicker.

You could always download Malwarebytes free and just run it once a month it is one of my favotites
