Adding programs to start up

  Gazzerr 13:13 23 Aug 2007

I;m not sure how but Zone Alarm and AVG no longer start at start up. How do I add them back to the start up menu?

If you look in your Start Menu folder for either All Users or *YOU* they should be there. If they are you must have stopped them from starting at some point.

If not I believe all you need to do is create a Shortcut for them in All Programs and drag it to the Start Menu folder. You will need to remove the bracketed number by renaming.

If this is incorrect I`m sure someone will tell us both!!!!!!!!!!

Or Run,type msconfig,Startup and make sure the two programs are ticked.

As johndrew says, just drag the icons from your desktop to the Start Menu in All Programs and reboot.

With a mischievous desire to do anything other than the way Microsoft intended and not disputing the advice from johndrew and Greengage you could download Winpatrol Free
It is much respected on this forum and not only will it allow you to solve your immediate problem of adding to your start menu but it has lots of other useful functions.
