Adding a Hard Disk

  NChick 20:14 05 Mar 2007

Hello yet again. This time I want to add another hard disk.

i have two available bays, both of which are occupied by a 40gb and a 6gb (the 6 is the secondary, the 40 is the mian, windows drive and the one I need to keep).
The problem is that my PC can't seem to detect the 80gb Maxtor DiamondMa Plus 9 ATA/133 HDD I'm trying to put in. I've made sure the jumper settings are correct and that the cable connected is the right one (I think!). Am I missing something? Is the cable inside my PC possibly not the right one - it fits like a glove, but as I typed, the PC does not detect it. I'd rather not fiddle with the bios so any other ideas?

Maxtor as a secondary drive need the jumper taking off (so there isn't one) do that then, try again..

Will try that soon (the PC in question is in use a lot at the mo), and sorry for all those typos! I was in rather a hurry :S
Will post back as things develop...
