I am trying to add a "Rich Text Format" item to the Right Click Desktop menu New option. I've done it before in Windows 95 & 98 SE, but I can't remember how, now that I want to do it in Windows XP Pro.

Can anyone remind me how or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks in anticipation, Peter.

Thanks for the link brundle. I will try TweekUI out and see if it provides what I want. I did think it might have something to do with Powertools, but I could not remember which tool or how.

I will leave this thread open for now to see if any other ideas/solutions are posted.

Thanks again, Peter.

That should be PowerToys not Powertools! Too much DIY I think.

I have installed TweekUI as obtained from your link and it works a treat and has allowed me to add the "Rich Text Format" (.rtf, as used by Wordpad) file option to the New part of the Desktop Right Click menu. As recommended in the link I placed an .rtf file on the desktop and pointed TweekUI at it and TweekUI did the rest.

I will tick this one as Resolved.

Thanks for your help, Peter.
