I've just updated Ad-Aware to the free Anniversary Edition. However it's placed an icon on my taskbar that I don't want. I tried to remove it in Startup with msconfig etc but no joy. Can anyone advise?

Try start/run/msconfig/startup and remove it.

If you mean on the Quick Launch Toolbar just right-click it and Delete

.....and if you mean in the System Tray then you will have to disable Ad-Watch Live in the program - it's the new real time protection feature

What is Quick Launch Toolbar and what is System tray?

I'm finding Ad-Watch a pain in the .... as it wants to delete all cookies including ones I want to keep.

aha, right clicking it doesn't delete: msconfig ditto: Sea Urchin greetings, disabling Ad Watch Live...Good idea or not??

System tray is where the clock is,the rest is the quick launch toolbar.

Sorry, the icon is in my System Tray...msconfig startup won't remove it,nor disabling Ad Watch.

Go to Settings and Appearance tab and under General tick Hide Taskbar Icon - then OK.

If you want to keep your Cookies go to Settings - Scanning tab - and select Folders to create your own scanning profile
