When scanning with ad-aware the programme stops half way through and the message please insert disk in drive E comes up, the programme won't carry on and I have to remove it by ending the task any ideas anyone please

uninstall and reinstall?

Ok thanks for that it's only just started happening

Open adaware and click on the cog wheel at the top right of window. Click on the Scanning button on the left pane and then the files/folders button to check when scanning. You've probably got it set to check drive E and that is why it's asking you to insert a disk. j.
